Arrive in Marrakesh with a private transfer to your luxury hotel and spa. A genuine oasis set in 8 hectares of Gardens in the heart of Marrakesh and situated close to the bustling Medina and world famous Jmaa el-Fna square. You will spend two nights here with time to explore the City, and indulge yourself in the largest Spa in Marrakesh, A 3000-sqm oasis of holistic luxury featuring the Oriental Thermae®, Dior Institute, Hammam, plus their Signature massages – the only treatments and concepts of their kind in Marrakesh.
Today you are met at your hotel by your English speaking driver who will be at your disposal during your tour. He will take you on a journey to some of the gardens and museums of Marrakesh. Including the Jardin Majorelle which was designed by the French artist Jacques Majorelle who took up residence in Marrakesh and turned his garden into a tropical paradise, surrounded by vivid cobalt blue building with verdant exotic groves, lily-covered pools, huge and sculptural cactuses. It also houses the Berber (Amazigh) Museum which displays objects that invite the visitor to appreciate the beauty of Berber art across rural Morocco. They testify to the rich diversity and creativity of this culture. The Imazighen (singular Amazigh), or Berbers, are among the original peoples of North Africa. Their myths, legends and history span 9,000 years. Lunch followed by a visit to the Dar Si Said Museum. The Dar Si Said Museum is actually a sumptuous old palace with stunning Hispano-Moorish ceilings, plaster work and carved cedar woodwork. It’s worth visiting just to see the architecture and interior decoration. The palace houses the Museum of Moroccan Art and the exhibits include clothes, weaponry, objects of beaten copper, all types of furniture and fittings.
Depart after breakfast for the 3 and half hour drive to Rabat – the current capital city of Morocco. Lunch at your hotel, freshen up and then a guided tour of Rabat which includes the Oudaya Kasbah and its beautiful gardens, The Mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan II and Hassan Tower which is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in Rabat constructed in 1195.
Depart after breakfast, for the 2 hour drive to Fez, arrive in time for lunch at the sumptuous Riad chosen by us for its history, authenticity and gastronomic delights. Indulge yourself in the centuries old Palace. A short tour by a local guide around the City walls follows in the afternoon. A drive around the ramparts and discover Fez el Jedid: Visit of Batha Museum and Boujeloud gardens, stop at the gates of the Royal Palace combining grandeur and elegance. You will pass through the main street of the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) with its beautiful Andalusian balconies. Towards the potters quarter where you can see the techniques used by craftsmen for the manufacture of pottery, ceramics and Zellij and finally a stop for a panoramic view of Fez Medina.
After Breakfast a short 1 and half hour drive to visit the Roman city of Volubilis which was the capital of Mauritania in King Juba II. You can see the House of Orpheus, the Baths of Gallienus, the Temple of Venus and the famous Arch of Caracalla. Visit of the imperial city Meknes founded by Moulay Ismail in the late 14th Century, whose gigantic building across Morocco sparked a huge echo that came to Europe at the Court of Louis XIV King of France. And discover impressive monuments such as the Bab El Mansour, the Bab el Khemis, the ramparts, Moulay Ismail’s attic and Lehdim Square. Return late afternoon evening to your Riad
Today you can fully immerse yourself in understanding the culture, crafts, beauty secrets or gastronomic delights. Moroccan cooking, learn how to create a whole Fassi Menu and discover the traditional practices of the everyday life of a Moroccan family. Perhaps totally immersing yourself into the most sophisticated of beauty rituals of the Moroccan woman with an understanding of the natural products and a 3 hour beauty treatment. Alternatively you can try your hand and traditional pottery making or take part in a Zellige workshop. These activities are all optional and booked directly with your hosts at the Riad.
After breakfast we depart Fez for the drive to the Desert and the magnitude of Erg Chebbi sand dunes that reach up to 150 metres tall. Stopping in Midelt for lunch you will arrive at your desert destination in the late afternoon. After travelling through the Atlas Mountains and a diverse landscape, which you see change gradually to the wide expanse of the desert.
Our hotel choice here is truly an oasis of comfort in the middle of the desert. The day is yours to relax and enjoy the the luxurious facilities of the hotel. You can choose a variety of excursions bookable at the hotel, including 4×4 exploration of the desert, Dromedary rides or an opportunity to meet with the local Nomads and tribes of the desert.
After breakfast your will depart for your stay at a desert camp in M’Hamid, a 5 hour drive. Here you will see the second of the largest dunes in Morocco, Erg Chigaga, staying at an exclusive luxury camp deep in the heart of the dunes.The camp is in the middle of the desert, at the foot of the dunes of Chegaga, one of the most beautiful spots in the Moroccan desert. Carpets and pillows in shimmering colours, a bright log fire and big white Berber tents all stand out in stark contracts to the nearby environment. Nothing can prepare you for the silence of the desert or the beauty of the night sky.
Depart for Ouarzazate after breakfast a 4 hour leisurely drive, experiencing for the last time the small desert towns, intermixed with small oasis of colour. The town of Ourzazate is the largest town in the Sahara Desert the name comes from the Berber Phrase “Without Noise”. Your hotel accommodation and facilities will promise you deep relaxation and gastronomic delights.
After breakfast drive you leave for Marrakesh with a drive taking in some of the most breathtaking scenery. A drive through the Tizi’n’Tichka (Difficult Path) pass is an exciting and memorable journey that climbs twisting up through forests to the treeless summits. Each hairpin turn, and there are many of them, offers spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains, with a detour on the way to see the Ksar of Ait Ben-Haddou a striking example of architecture in Southern Morocco. This is a traditional Mud Brick city on the edge of the High Atlas Mountains. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and has featured in many films. Arrive late afternoon early evening at the sumptuous Hotel Palace and Spa.
After breakfast a day in the Atlas Mountains with a short trip of 30km will show you that nature is on the doorstep in the Ourika Valley. This valley surges in the high Atlas and lets you discover a little river surrounded with beaches and greenery. You will cross through Asguine, Aghbalou, and Oulmes and finally Setti Fatma (famous for its pottery and minerals) that culminates at 1500 meters and from where you will reach the 7 waterfalls. On your way back the driver can bring you to the restaurant Ramancho which has a terrace facing the mountains.
